The crescent walk is one element of the corporate master plan prepared for Starkey’s Headquarter Campus, located in Eden Prairie, MN. The walk is located within the turn around in front of the William F. Austin center which is one of the primary buildings on the campus. This walk features a sculpture of William F. Austin the founder of the Starkey Hearing Foundation started in 1984 with the idea: “Alone we can’t do much. But, together we can change the world.”… “So the World May Hear”. The statue was created by Billy Mack a well known and respected local artist who has achieved worldwide acceptance sculptor. He has had exhibitions in galleries from New York City to Beverly Hills, and from Tokyo to Frankfurt and we were proud to work with Starkey and Mack on this exciting project.
The statue itself is centered on a design axis which bisects the William F. Austin center entry doors. The decorative red bands which can be found throughout the campus establish the border of the walk and billow out for the sculpture terrace. The center of the is also colored concrete which defines the drop-off area of the vehicular turnaround and highlights the crescent and primary walk at the entrance of the building.
